Una Verse

My amazing boyfriend suprised me with Una today! Una is going to compliment Alie so well. I'm super excited to say my recreation of Alie's skirt is complete, and by the looks of Una's hers will be great as well!

Uploading from iPhone!

This is the first time that I have attempted to update from my phone, hoping all goes well. Figured since I didn't post for a few days I would give you a sneak peek of some new merch! So uploading crappy iPhone quality photos now!!
This will be a set of 2 wrist cuffs, made from vintage Alice in Wonderland fabric. So keep checking the Etsy!

Novi Stars

If you don't know me, you should know I am a pretty big kid (even though I'm only 19, but still). I love toys and Barbie dolls and have recently gotten a lot of my inspiration from them. No more so than from my favorite new toy... Novi Stars! They are these super cool girls from outer space who have come to earth to bring us new fashion trends (and that they have already done. I am currently working on an outfit inspired by Alie Lectric). The set consists of 4 dolls (not including Nita Light, which comes with her own "Energy Pod Playset.") Every girl has a unique talent. Alie Lectric lights up, Ari Roma is scented, Una Verse is filled with water and glitter, and Mae Tallick talks! I can't wait to collect them all and would encourage anyone to get them!

Let me tell you..

Let me tell you about this week, this event-filled, hectic and crazy week! Mack finally took his vacation this week, I rescued 3 stray kittens that were in some bushes in our front yard, We had our "Rave Emergency" show last Friday and to top it off have spent the last four days thrift shopping. Some days were great, others (like today) were not so much!
I feel like I have neglected the blog and feel so terrible about it, so I will give you some Inside Scoop on things that are coming up! Etsy will soon have more earrings, kawaii ones at that, along with more pillows. Also  if you are in the Augusta area, The Fence Sitters and I have teamed up for some exciting new merch! I can't give out all those details, but I will tell you, you will not want to miss out! I leave you with a few photos for you to enjoy this weekend.

Phinizy Swamp

Phinizy Swamp is a hidden gem in Augusta, Ga. Located in South Augusta close to Bush Field. This was Macks first time there and he felt it was a beautiful sight uncharacteristic of our city. You can be so close to the city and yet in such a peaceful and quiet surrounding.

School is out. Forever.

When new schools are built old ones are simply thrown away. So is the case with Sue Reynolds Elementary. Upon entering the grounds overrun with grass and graffiti. Archaic desks, tables and chairs fill the halls where children once learned and though the brand new school is less than a mile down the road, I find this piece of history way more interesting.

Stray.

If you don't know me, I am a sucker for cats, and no matter where I can't seem to escape them. Mack and I went out to Graniteville to see if we could enter the abandoned mills. Upon searching for an entrance I noticed a cat manning the security booth. Once stopped they all seemed to appear and disappear. The time there was short because of the storm clouds ahead. What saddened me most was the possibility of the only food they could have gotten in days had been ruined by rain. An unorthodox addition to my camera bag is now a can of cat food.

Once A Home

A few minutes down the road from where Mack used to live is a very destroyed house. Windows busted, the back of the house gone, and lots of graffiti. Scattered around the house is newspaper and bottles. The only furniture in the house is a baby crib that is piled with debris. The first 5 stairs were missing but not making it impossible to get upstairs, where someone took the time to gut the upstairs insulation.

Southern Milling Company

In Augusta, GA there are so many historic buildings that could use renovation, however in the case of the Southern Milling Company its time will never come. In 2008 the building caught fire causing the streets surrounding it to be closed down. Any chance of this building having a future was lost in that fire. As beautiful as I find it, this place is perched next to the Savannah River. Water has flooded the foundation, mixed with oil and become a stagnant sludge. Its only inhabitance is a hoard of dragonflies.

A day in the City

I am a huge Adventure Time fan, so when Mack informed me there was a Cartoon Network store in Atlanta (that just happened to have a giant Lady Ranicorn coming out of it) I knew that it was a must see the next time we were there. Luckily we got to go relatively soon. Not only seeing the inside of the CNN building but also going to the Atlanta Olympic Park. We had such a great day, even though I'll be glad when these hot months are gone!

Cinema

Unfortunately not much was going on at this location, but I couldn't pass up an abandoned movie theatre. This building is completely sealed, but the sign looks so post apocalyptic I couldn't resist. Nearby is the old Regency Mall, which closed in 2002. Recently the entrances have been completely closed off, but I am determined to get some shots soon!

Glow Jam

This past Saturday, Mack and I went to an event downtown thrown by a mutual friend. She'd gathered a group of people who perform with poi and LED Hula hoops. The event lasted 2 hours and I had the privilege of meeting these skilled performers. I went out of my comfort zone for this, because I'm not used to working with surroundings outdoors or night photography.

Inspiration: Kawaii

Since starting this blog I've tried to expand on things to create. Beginning with Photography, going to sewing, pillow design, and now jewelry-making. One of my best ways to get inspired is by looking at things I'd like to make. Although these are not jewelry, they are something I get plenty of inspiration off of. Kawaii is amazing to me, for multiple reasons, obviously I'm a girl who loves cute things! But also because eventually I would love to start creating Kawaii-like things. So enjoy the pictures I have posted!
